TOKYO-March 15, 2018-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI,TSE1: 3774), one of Japan’s leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that it will begin offering its Japan Travel SIMs as a Full MVNO* on April 2, 2018 for visitors to Japan and temporary returnees.

Japan Travel SIM is a packaged prepaid SIM card that includes data for high-speed transmissions. Users can easily start transmitting data just by inserting the SIM card in a SIM lock-free device or a Wi-Fi router, and by configuring the unit. IIJ first started offering the Japan Travel SIM in September 2014, but with this release, IIJ will offer new packages of its proprietary SIM with 1.5 GB and 3 GB data capacities.※Mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) are operators that use wireless access facilities at places like bases belonging to mobile network operator (MNOs), and a “Full MVNO” is one that maintains and operates its own subscriber management functions (HLR/HSS), part of MNO core network infrastructure.
